LINDLEY MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Robert Skelecz, a man from Baker Street in Lindley, was convicted of assaulting his former partner. The incident occurred at the victim's home in Bradley on February 3.
The prosecutor Shamaila Qureshi stated that during the event, Skelecz had previously been convicted of assaulting his ex-partner and another partner, with the court being informed that his three children had been removed from his care due to these episodes of violence.
On the day of the attack, Skelecz entered the victim's bedroom after her current partner left, and started moving furniture around.
When the victim intervened, he grabbed her arms, causing her pain.
She pushed him away, after which he sat down to watch Home Alone.
She called a friend, who contacted her partner, leading to police being called.
The victim was left with bruising, and Skelecz admitted to assaulting her.
He claims the children were removed because of the behavior of himself and his partner as a couple, not solely because of his violence.
Skelecz's previous convictions from 2014 and 2015 involve domestic violence, including one involving the same complainant.
The court sentenced him on March 21 after a full report, and banned him from contacting the victim or visiting her home until then.
