GLASGOW MAN JAILED FOR STABBING NEPHEW OVER KEBAB SAUCE
A man named Robert Kenna, aged 41, who repeatedly stabbed his nephew, Anthony Kenna, following a dispute over kebab sauce, has been sentenced to 19 months in prison. The incident occurred in Glasgow's Barmulloch on January 10, 2024.
According to reports, Anthony had been annoyed that Robert returned home with takeaway food and did not buy him anything.
After Anthony pinched Robert's kebab sauce, Robert reacted violently, flipping the table and knocking over his food.
He then grabbed a knife and attacked Anthony, hitting him with the blade before they came to blows in a bedroom.
Anthony sustained wounds that required stitches and staples and was later taken to hospital.
A witness, identified as another man in the property, saw Robert on the ground punching Anthony, who was injured and bleeding.
Robert was heard to threaten to 'stab you all' while holding the blade, prompting police to arrest him.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Robert pleaded guilty to the assault causing severe injury and behaving in a threatening manner.
His lawyer described the incident as "out of character" and stated Robert accepted his actions and showed remorse.
The court noted the seriousness of using a weapon in such circumstances and sentenced him to custodial confinement.
Robert answered to a warrant for his arrest after being late for the scheduled sentencing hearing.
The court emphasized that only a custodial sentence was appropriate given the severity of the offence.
