ROBERT CURTIS FROM DUFFIELD AND ROMSEY JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING TEENAGE GIRLS
In a case that has shocked the communities of Duffield and Romsey, Robert Curtis, a man aged 48 at the time of the offences, has been sentenced to four years in prison for engaging in sexual activities with a 15-year-old girl.The court heard that Curtis's misconduct included not only sexual acts but also the recording of their encounters, which added a disturbing dimension to the case.
According to the prosecution, led by Siward James-Moore, Curtis used a video camera to document his interactions with the teenage girl, an act that was described as particularly troubling by the judge.
The incidents took place between October 2007 and January 31, 2008, during which Curtis was residing in Duffield.
The court was also informed that Curtis had previously committed indecent assault on another girl four years earlier, highlighting a pattern of inappropriate behavior.
At the time of the offences, Curtis was living in Duffield, a village known for its quiet, rural character.
However, his current address is listed in Romsey, Hampshire, where he now resides.
The judge, Hon.
Judge John Wait, emphasized that Curtis's actions were exacerbated by his encouragement of alcohol and cannabis consumption among young people, as well as his facilitation of their misuse of substances and engagement in inappropriate activities.
