MAN JAILED FOR 21 YEARS FOR RAPING TWO WOMEN
A 34-year-old man received a 21-year prison sentence today (4 October) after being convicted of rape and sexual assault.The individual, identified as Marlon Nelson, with no permanent address, committed a sexual assault in November 2014.
After a night out, he offered a ride home to a 17-year-old girl from Calmore and subsequently raped her at Testwood Recreational Ground on 11 November 2014.
Further investigations uncovered that Nelson was also responsible for raping and sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman from Romsey at Ampfield Recreational Ground in late November 2017.
During a week-long trial that commenced on 12 July, a jury found him guilty of two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and one count of digital penetration.
Today, at Southampton Crown Court, Nelson was sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison.
He was also ordered to be registered as a sex offender for life.
