MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING GIRLS
A man aged 48 has been convicted and sentenced to prison for a series of sexual offences involving three victims.During a court hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Friday, June 5, Robert Caradain, who was previously known as Robert Gallop, received a sentence of 17 years and 10 months imprisonment.
Caradain, who does not have a fixed residence, admitted to seven counts of gross indecency with a girl under the age of 14 and two counts of indecent assault against another girl under 14, pertaining to two separate child victims, during a plea hearing in March 2024.
He was subsequently found guilty of three counts of rape and one count of indecent assault involving a female over the age of 16, following a trial that concluded in December of the previous year.
The court was informed that Caradain had committed sexual assaults on three different victims over nearly ten years, from autumn 1991 to summer 2000.
The youngest victim was just five years old, and the assaults took place at locations within South Gloucestershire.
In addition to his prison term, Caradain will be registered as a sex offender for life.
