During proceedings at Teesside Crown Court, it was revealed that Alder possessed an application on his mobile device that is well-known for facilitating the sharing of illegal content.
Authorities discovered multiple indecent images of children on his phone, including two video files.
He admitted to three charges related to different levels of the seriousness of the material.
The court was informed that Alder had been collecting these images since late January 2020.
Recorder Paul Reid commented on the case, stating: “Each of these images represents an abuse of a child.
Such material extends and perpetuates the harm.” Advocate Taylor Plunkett, representing Alder of Admiral Way, Hartlepool, argued that he posed a “low risk” to the community and was receptive to rehabilitation.
