STRANRAER MAN AVOIDS REGISTER AFTER SEXUAL COMMENT AT AYR HOSPITAL
A MAN who made a sexual comment to a woman at Ayr Hospital and threw a plastic cup avoided being placed on the register.
Ricky Longridge pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, causing fear and alarm at Ayr Hospital, when he appeared from custody at Ayr Sheriff Court.
The 39-year-old admitted shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner during the incident on February 5.
He then threw a plastic cup and made a sexual remark towards a woman named on the complaint.
Sentence was previously deferred for Longridge, of Foundry Lane, Stranraer, for him to be present due to the 'sexual nature' of the charge.
When he later appeared in court from custody, the Crown accepted his guilty plea, meaning police notification requirements were not imposed.
Longridge's solicitor told the court that his client was already on a community payback order at Stranraer Sheriff Court, and currently in custody relating to other matters, adding that he had no connection to the Ayr area.
Sentencing was deferred to go along with other cases in Stranraer.
