DOVER RAPIST WHO HELD PROSTITUTE AT GUNPOINT IN FOLKESTONE JAILED FOR 15 YEARS
A prison guard who twice raped a sex worker and stockpiled weapons at his home has been locked up.Richard Scaife was carrying an imitation handgun, bayonet, pierced condom, expired HMP identification badge, and gaffa tape at his arrest.
Judge Catherine Brown sentenced Scaife to 15 years at Canterbury Crown Court after his conviction for two counts of rape.
Officers discovered weapons including six machetes, 14 lock-knives, a samurai sword, eight ball-bearing pistols, and air rifles at his Dover home.
Despite denying wrongdoing, jurors found him guilty.
The victim described the terrifying ordeal where he locked her in and threatened her with a gun, leading to her release after she alerted her landlord and called police.
Scaife was arrested nearby with weapons and items linked to the attack, including duct tape and an air pistol resembling a handgun.
He claimed the weapons were for legitimate purposes like airsoft and martial arts, but police confirmed the weapons were dangerous and unlawful.
Prosecutors highlighted his dangerous actions, and police praised the quick response that led to his arrest.
Scaife was ordered to serve an extended five years on licence following his release.
