FOLKESTONE PAEDOPHILE ARGUED MUM USED HIS PHONE TO FRAME HIM
A paedophile stung by vigilantes on a dating site argued his mother may have created fake evidence to frame him before eventually admitting his guilt.
Ashley Bowker, of Folkestone, prowled Meet24 between 2023 and 2024, sending horrific sexual messages to children's accounts.
He exchanged lurid messages with a decoy posing as a young girl and also posed as siblings to contact another police decoy, asking disturbing questions.
Detectives seized his phone when he was arrested at his Folkestone home on February 9, 2024, where evidence was found.
Bowker initially denied his actions, claiming his account had been hacked, but pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court.
He received a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, ordered to complete 40 rehabilitation days, 100 hours of unpaid work, a 10-year sexual prevention order, and seven years of notification requirements.
During police interviews, he even suggested his mother may have fabricated evidence to set him up.
Since his conviction, he has moved to Romney Marsh and now works as a baker.
