MAN IN COURT AFTER THROWING GLASS AT HIS PARTNER DURING DRUNKEN ARGUMENT
Foster, of Holme Park Court, Berry Brow, pleaded guilty to assault on the basis that he was reckless.Magistrates heard that the 40-year-old was previously cautioned for a battery against his partner in July last year.
Neil Murphy, mitigating, said that the incident happened when the couple had far too much to drink.
He added that both had thrown glasses in the house, one of which had smashed in the fireplace.
“Foster got a brush and had started to sweep up the glass.
She started shouting again and he chucked a bit of glass.
He didn’t intend the injury but accepts that there was a risk of it hitting her.” In the early hours of December 21 police were called to Miss Noone’s home in Riddings Road, Deighton.
Vanessa Schofield, prosecuting, said: “They had both been drinking and started arguing.
Glass got smashed and the argument continued.” An ambulance was called and staff treated the cut to Miss Noone’s head, which had to be glued.
Magistrates heard that splatters of blood were found in the room where the attack happened.
Foster was fined £70 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
The couple intends to continue their relationship.
