ARMY VETERAN TURNED STALKER'S THREATENING VOICEMAILS TO EX AFTER 'FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO RESIST HER'
A stalker sent threatening voicemails to his partner and turned up outside her home after the relationship broke down.Richard Fielding was remanded in custody after he admitted stalking involving fear of violence and breaching a stalking protection order at Teesside Magistrates' Court on October 24.
On June 25, earlier this year, a stalking protection order was made prohibiting Fielding, 42, from contacting a former partner and her immediate family.
Teesside Crown Court heard, on Friday, November 21, that the woman believed Fielding had changed and the relationship resumed, despite the order.
Saba Shan, prosecuting, said: "When she has gone on to realise this was not true, she has ended the relationship.
She has blocked his number which is why his calls diverted to voicemail." In voicemails, which the woman shared with police, Fielding "calls her a f***ing skank and a tramp." Ms Shan said: "[He says] I'll be outside your f***ing house again and I'll f***ing run you through." He also threatens violence and to damage her car and accuses her of giving him a sexually transmitted disease.
The court heard the woman phoned him to tell him to stop calling.
Fielding turned up outside her home twice and on the second occasion, on October 20, he was angry.
He accused her of having another man in the flat.
The woman did not provided a victim personal statement to the court.
Simon Walker, mitigating for Fielding, said: "This has persuaded him to the view that 'that's it, it's done'.
He has found it difficult to resist her when she has rekindled the relationship.
"This experience has served to persuade him to the view that there is no prospect - not now, not ever." The court heard Fielding, who served four years in the British Army's rifle regiment, has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder after serving in Afghanistan.
Fielding, of Uppingham Street, Hartlepool, was jailed for a total of eight weeks after admitting stalking involving fear of violence and breaching a stalking protection order.
