PRESTON MEN SENTENCED FOR RAPE IN SHOCKING CITY CENTRE ATTACK
Two men have been sentenced to at least six years in prison after pleading guilty to the rape of a woman during a night out in Preston city centre.Rezgar Sharif Nouri, 27, from Waltons Parade, Preston, and Mohammed Ibrahim, 23, from Aeroville, London, will both serve a minimum of six years following their admission of guilt in the case involving a 23-year-old woman.
The incident took place after the victim was driven back to Nouri’s house on Walton Parade at about 4am on June 26 last year, where she was assaulted.
Though they initially denied the charges, both Nouri and Ibrahim changed their pleas to guilty after evidence such as CCTV footage and forensic analysis was presented by police.
Detective Sergeant Chris McCreadie, of Preston CID, stated: “This was a profoundly upsetting experience for the victim, and although she will carry its effects for the rest of her life, I hope the sentencing helps her find some closure.” He further explained that the victim was supported by specialist officers during the investigation and reaffirmed their dedication to helping victims of sexual crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice.
The police are still searching for a third suspect connected to the case and are pursuing inquiries to locate him.
