PERTH MAN ACCUSED OF ABDUCTING AND ASSAULTING EX-PARTNERS IN MULTIPLE CHARGES
A Perth man, Raymond Urquhart, aged 56 and residing on Dunkeld Road, is scheduled to face trial before a jury on December 4, accused of multiple serious offences.He has pleaded not guilty to six charges.
It is alleged that between October 8 and 29, 2016, at a flat in Perth's Alexandra Street, he assaulted Tanya Rae, his then partner, and detained her against her will, including seizing her by the throat and compressing it, restricting her breathing, and taking her mobile phone to her injury.
Furthermore, during the same period, he reportedly acted in an aggressive manner towards her.
Another serious allegation is that he seized her by the throat and pushed her on the body, and pulled her from her bed at a house in Dunkeld Road.
On or between August 1 and 31, 2017, he is also accused of assaulting Audrey Gallacher by seizing her, pushing her and pulling her from her bed at her house in Dunkeld Road.
Additionally, it is claimed that during a car journey in October 2017, he seized the steering wheel while she was driving.
The charges include shouting and swearing at Ms Gallacher and threatening to cause a collision.
The court appearance was last week, where he maintained his not guilty plea.
His lawyer is Paul Ralph, and his bail has been continued.
The trial is expected to last around two-and-a-half days.
