EAST KILBRIDE MAN BANNED FROM KEEPING PETS AFTER ANIMAL CRUELTY
A man named Rafal Bednarek has been subjected to legal action after he admitted to ill-treating a dog and six puppies at his East Kilbride residence.He was banned from keeping pets for one year and ordered to complete 135 hours of unpaid community service at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
Animal welfare officers discovered that he kept the dog and puppies in a cage at his Germiston Crescent home on August 3 of the previous year.
Bednarek admitted to failing to provide the animals with a suitable environment, stating they were confined to a cage that was too small and had no means of escape.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to provide the animals with access to adequate food and water.
He also confessed to grabbing one puppy by the neck and slamming it on the floor.
Furthermore, Bednarek admitted failing to take a breath test at Motherwell police station on the same day, which resulted in a one-year driving ban.
