STANMORE MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER NIGHTCLUB SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man from Stanmore named Prashant Ladva has avoided imprisonment after sexually assaulting a teenage girl in a nightclub.
The incident took place at Watford's Pryzm nightclub, where Ladva, of Julius Ceasar Way, approached the victim near the cloakroom after loitering in the foyer.
He attempted to initiate conversation and compliment her before the assault occurred.
The victim escaped and reported the assault to Hertfordshire Police.
Ladva was sentenced in St Albans Crown Court to a two-year community order, 200 hours of unpaid work, and 25 days of rehabilitation.
Additionally, his name was added to the Sex Offender Register for five years, and he was ordered to pay a surcharge, costs, and compensation.
The victim expressed that speaking out was important for her closure and to help protect other women, saying: "Not only was coming forward about this important for my own closure, but I also wanted to show that speaking up can have a positive outcome for female victims of assault.
Not only does it help you personally, but it helps protect other women." Detective Constable Jon Holmes commended the victim's dignity and urged other victims to come forward, stressing that their wishes are prioritized during investigations.
