POLISH MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR BOURNEMOUTH WAITRESS MURDER
A man who violently murdered his former girlfriend in Bournemouth has been given a life sentence.Piotr Zasada, aged 33, carried out the attack on Katarzyna Ryba, age 26, in October 2009, before their young daughter, and inflicted fatal stab wounds.
The court learned that Zasada had initially denied the murder charge but later pled guilty at Winchester Crown Court.
Justice Guy Boney QC stated that Zasada would be imprisoned for a minimum of 14 years and 62 days.
The killing occurred when Zasada entered the flat where Ms Ryba was staying, armed with two kitchen knives, and assaulted her in a bedroom, stabbing her multiple times.
Subsequently, he threw her out of a second-floor window into the car park below.
Zasada was later found sitting in his car with minor wrist injuries following the attack.
Their daughter needed psychological help afterward.
The court emphasized Zasada’s psychological difficulties in coping with rejection, describing him as 'not well-equipped psychologically to handle sexual rejection.' The Independent Police Complaints Commission has initiated an inquiry since police had been in contact with Zasada just days prior to the murder, with their last engagement on 27 September.
Ms Ryba, a Polish national, had been involved with Pc Richard Allen, who was working on her case after she reported Zasada’s violence.
The court determined that Zasada murdered Ms Ryba out of 'anger and jealousy.'
