BOURNEMOUTH MAN AVOIDS JAIL FOR OVER 1,000 INDECENT CHILD IMAGES
A man has avoided an immediate prison sentence after being found in possession of more than 1,000 indecent images of children.
Phillp Holt, aged 60 and residing on Wimborne Road in Bournemouth, was charged with three counts of making indecent photographs of children dating between May 1, 2019, and June 17, 2020.
He pleaded guilty to all charges during a court hearing held at Poole Magistrates' Court on May 6.
Court documents revealed that Holt possessed 46 category A images, which are deemed the most serious, along with 59 category B images and 916 category C images.
The court sentenced Holt to 24 weeks in prison, suspended for two years.
As part of his sentence, Holt is required to participate in a 50-day accredited sex offender programme and complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders register for seven years and subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
Holt was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £128.
