Wiltshire sex offender jailed for exposing himself in charity shop

A repeat sex offender has been jailed after indecently exposing himself in a charity shop.On May 31, Philip Harding, 72, of the Lye, Seend, was seen inside a charity shop in The Brittox, Devizes, exposing and then pleasuring himself in the presence of the victim and the victim's young daughter.The incident was reported to police and following enquiries, Harding was identified and arrested.The pensioner pleaded guilty to indecent exposure on Monday, June 16 and the case was committed to Salisbury Crown Court for sentencing.On Friday, July 18, Harding was jailed for 12 months and a sexual harm prevention order was imposed for 10 years.Local Crime Investigator Shonna O'Harney, based in the Volume Crime Team, said: "Harding is a prolific offender and we are aware of the community concern around him."Support from the community is vital to investigate these offences and the courts have recognized the severity of Harding's actions with a custodial sentence and a long-term SHPO."
