WILTSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR CONTROLLING BEHAVIOUR OVER 13 YEARS
A Wiltshire domestic abuser has been sentenced for engaging in controlling and coercive behavior over a period of more than a decade, specifically between 2010 and 2023.
The offender, Joshua Abada, 38, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday, July 23, where he pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behavior.
Police reported that over 13 years, he 'controlled, humiliated, verbally abused and assaulted his victim on multiple occasions.' The court sentenced him to 15 months in prison and imposed a five-year restraining order.
PC Sean Surgey from the volume crime team commented that 'Abada’s actions have caused significant stress and anxiety to his victim; I would like to commend the victim for her bravery and courage in reporting this behaviour to the Police and seeing this through until conviction.
