REVEREND JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING YOUNG BOYS
A man from Coventry with a history of sexual abuse has been sentenced to prison after abusing two young boys.
Reverend Philip Aspinall, who committed the offenses during the 1990s, has now been held accountable for his actions.
During his time working as the Minister in Secular Employment at St Peters Hillfields, Aspinall is accused of sexually assaulting two boys under the age of 16.
The abuse is believed to have occurred sometime between 1991 and 2000.
An investigation commenced in 1997, initiated by police due to reports of his misconduct.
Despite the investigation, no criminal charges were filed against Aspinall at that time, leading to his release.
His professional license was revoked by the then Bishop of Coventry.
On January 31, Aspinall, now 73, was convicted at Warwick Crown Court.
He received a 23-year prison sentence and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
He resides at Nod Rise in Coventry.
