CHILD RAPIST JAILED FOR 26 YEARS
A man has been sentenced to 26 years in prison following his conviction for child sexual abuse in Batley during the late 1990s.Anthony Restall, aged 59 and residing on Manhatten Way in Coventry, was found guilty of six separate charges after a trial held at Leeds Crown Court in August.
His convictions include four counts of indecent assault against a girl under the age of 14, one charge of raping a female under 16, and an additional count of raping on multiple occasions.
The offences took place over a period from 1998 to 2003.
Detective Constable Sally Porritt of Kirklees Child Safeguarding Team said: “I would like to praise the bravery and resilience of the woman in this case.
“Restall has finally had to face the consequences of his abhorrent crimes he committed on a young child.
