PETER SWAN'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN PETERBOROUGH AND THE PHILIPPINES REVEALED
Peter Swan, a man with a disturbing history as a convicted paedophile, has been formally sentenced after a series of heinous crimes involving the exploitation of children across international borders. The 62-year-old, whose actions have shocked the community of Peterborough and the wider public, engaged in a disturbing campaign that involved paying women in the Philippines to watch their children being sexually abused via live streams.According to reports from the Mirror, Swan used social media platforms and dating apps over an extended period, from 2015 to 2023, to contact women in the Philippines. He offered financial incentives in exchange for viewing videos or live streams that depicted children engaging in sexual acts. These exchanges were not limited to mere communication; Swan discussed plans to meet with the women and their children through Skype messages, indicating a disturbing level of intent and involvement.
Authorities in the United Kingdom took swift action after Swan's online activities came to light. In February 2023, law enforcement officers raided his residence in Orton Malborne, a suburb of Peterborough. The raid was prompted by the discovery that Swan had uploaded an indecent image of a child onto the internet. During the search, officers seized multiple electronic devices, including Dell and Sony laptops, as well as a Samsung phone. The phone contained nearly 3,000 indecent images of children, a staggering number that underscored the severity of Swan's crimes.
Initially, Swan was voluntarily interviewed by police, but his cooperation was short-lived. In November 2023, he was re-arrested after further evidence emerged, including Skype messages revealing that he continued to view indecent images and used platforms like Telegram to pay for additional illicit content. This ongoing activity demonstrated a sustained pattern of abuse and exploitation.
On December 18, 2023, Swan appeared before Peterborough Crown Court to face justice. The court heard the full extent of his crimes, which included multiple counts of facilitating the sexual exploitation of children. Swan pleaded guilty to three counts of arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of children under 13, one count involving a child between 13 and 17, and six counts related to possession and distribution of indecent images of children.
The presiding judge, Sean Enright, delivered a stern sentence, condemning Swan's actions as part of a
