DAD JAILED FOR NINE YEARS FOR MANSLAUGHTER OF HIS SIX WEEK OLD BABY
UPDATE 13/02/2026: Sayle was jailed for nine years and 11 months on Thursday (February 12).Sentencing, Mr Justice Bryan said: "I am satisfied, so that I am sure, that the reality was rather different, and that whilst you were downstairs with Huxley, you violently shook him as your frustration and anger at his crying, and your inability to settle him, boiled over.
"So how did it come to pass that you came to inflict such horrific and catastrophic injuries upon Huxley?
"The answer is revealed from searches recovered by the police on your mobile phone which you made before Huxley’s collapse, and which you accepted were carried out by you.
"These revealed that you had difficulties bonding with your baby, and his crying made you frustrated, especially at night, with such entries including "am I being too rough with my newborn", "I get frustrated with my baby at night", "my girlfriend keeps telling me I’m doing everything wrong with baby" and "new father frustration".
"Such frustration boiled over to anger on the night of June 14, 2022, when, whilst in sole charge of Huxley in the living room of your home, you shook him forcefully, causing the significant numbers of very serious injuries from which Huxley could not, and did not, recover." __________________________________________ UPDATE 09/02/2026: A string of disturbing internet searches were discovered before a father admitted to killing his six-week-old baby.
It was reported Peter Sayle became angry his son wouldn't sleep, with one web search saying "baby crying makes me angry dad".

The plea was accepted by the prosecution as an alternative to the murder charge he was on trial for.
Baby Huxley was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital after emergency services were called to reports he was not breathing, with a head injury revealed on a scan.
Huxley's injuries were too severe to be compatible with life and treatment was withdrawn.
On June 17, 2022, Sayle was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Wounding but later re-arrested on suspicion of murder.
Medical experts concluded Huxley had suffered skull and brain injuries consistent with violent shaking.
Sayle denied any wrongdoing during police interviews.
A post-mortem established the cause of death as traumatic head injury, with evidence indicating Huxley's injuries resulted from violence.
Web searches made shortly after Huxley's birth included phrases like "tips to deal with frustration and anger", "baby crying makes me angry dad", and "I'm getting so angry when baby won't sleep".
Sayle, now with no fixed address, pleaded guilty to Huxley's manslaughter and will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on February 12.
Lancashire Police expressed satisfaction with the guilty plea, stating that Sayle has finally admitted responsibility for the assault and death of his baby.
