PENZANCE MAN JAILED FOR STABBING WIFE IN TRAGIC SUICIDE PACT
Peter Rogers, aged 62 and living with Parkinson's Disease, traveled extensively around the globe with his wife Jennifer before ultimately stabbing her to death at a holiday rental in Cornwall.He pleaded guilty to manslaughter after evidence showed he was injured and lying beside his wife at the scene.
The couple's plans reportedly involved selling their property in South Africa and embarking on a world journey, with the intention of ending their lives due to dwindling finances and medication shortages.
Their travels took them through various countries, including the United States, Russia, and multiple European destinations, before they arrived in Cornwall.
On March 17th, police responded to the scene and found Mrs.
Rogers, aged 56, covered in blood and suffering multiple stab wounds.
She was declared dead at the scene.
Rogers, who did not have a permanent address, believed he had inflicted fatal wounds on himself with a knife but was discovered injured next to his wife.
He was sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment.
The case highlighted their shared tragic plan to take their own lives amid ongoing health issues and financial hardship.
