MAN CONVICTED OF GROOMING AND ABUSING GIRLS IN THE CITY
A rapist who sexually abused three young girls during the 1990s and early 2000s has been convicted of historic sex crimes.Peter King, who was 72 years old at the time of the conviction, manipulated and groomed the three victims, aged between 6 and 15.
His methods included taking them on swimming outings, purchasing clothing and food for them, and then bringing them back to his flat in Highgate, Birmingham.
During the period in question, King was employed as a taxi driver and used his black cab to transport the girls, along with occasionally their friends.
One of the victims, who was 15 when abused, became pregnant by King before opting for an abortion.
She later disclosed this sensitive information to aid the Public Protection Unit (PPU) in building a case against him.
The trial reached its conclusion at Birmingham Crown Court last Friday (October 31), where King, residing in Malin Close, Southampton, was convicted of 15 sexual offenses, including multiple counts of rape and indecent assault.
King has been remanded into custody and is scheduled for sentencing on January 12.
