GLASGOW DOUBLE RAPIST PETER HENDRY FINALLY CAUGHT AFTER DNA TEST
A DOUBLE rapist escaped justice for years until a former partner reported him for domestic abuse.Peter Hendry, a father of four, attacked two prostitutes in 2004 and 2007 after driving them to a desolate industrial estate near Glasgow.
But Hendry, of Carleston Street, Springburn, was only caught last year after police took a DNA sample following an alleged assault on a former partner.
It was then discovered his DNA matched that found on both rape victims.
The former forklift driver is now behind bars after being convicted of the rapes following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
The 41-year-old will be sentenced on September 18.
The court heard he raped his first victim, 33, in September 2004 after taking her to a quiet industrial site in Seath Road, Rutherglen.
He raped the second woman, 29, in July 2007 in the same industrial estate.
Hendry was remanded in custody and also placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.
