WORTHING SUSSEX POLICE OFFICER ACCUSED OF STALKING WOMAN
A Sussex police officer accused of using police cameras to stalk a woman has appeared in court.
Pc Peter De Silvo, 48, is alleged to have stalked a woman known to him for two years between October 2021 to 2023.
He is also charged with fraud by false representation, two counts of computer misuse, and five charges under the Data Protection Act, dating back to 2018.
At Staines Magistrates Court in Surrey, De Silvo only confirmed his name, address, and date of birth.
The officer, who was wearing a black raincoat over a shirt and tie, is alleged to have hacked accounts and misused police equipment like ANPR cameras to stalk his victim.
His case has been adjourned for defense instructions before pleas are entered on January 16.
De Silvo, of Worthing, has been granted conditional bail with a no contact condition.
Sussex Police have stated misconduct proceedings will be considered after criminal proceedings conclude.
