BICESTER MAN JAILED AFTER WATCHING VIDEO OF NAKED TODDLER
A former children's entertainer has been jailed after he was caught watching videos of naked toddlers.Paul Hilton, of Bardwell Terrace, Bicester, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday, November 25.
Hilton, 62, pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order, initially imposed in April last year.
The court heard he was caught on August 18, 2023, looking at child pornography on his parent's living room television by his neighbour in Malvern Close, Banbury.
He was charged with six counts of possession of indecent images—1,172 Category C images, 78 Category A images, and 127 Category B images—along with prohibited images and extreme pornographic images.
Before sentencing, a psychiatric report was requested but denied by the judge.
Police visited Hilton's address after security software on a tablet captured him viewing a video of a naked toddler, with other videos featuring children aged between six and 15 years old.
Hilton denied being sexually attracted to children, admitting only to downloading and deleting videos.
Evidence also showed he visited a storage locker frequently, which contained unregistered devices.
The court noted this was Hilton's third breach of the order.
Mitigating his conduct, barrister Gordana Austin mentioned Hilton's deep shame, regret, loneliness, and his belief that he is bipolar with declining mental health, and his motivation to change.
Judge Pringle sentenced Hilton to 18 months in jail, acknowledging his clear interest in children and his breach of court orders.
