DRUNK VETERAN SENTENCED FOR VIOLENT NECK BITE ON PARTNER
A drunk veteran named Paul Davies left his partner needing hospital treatment after he sank his teeth into her neck.
The incident occurred inside her home, where Davies bit the victim's neck and refused to let go until she managed to poke him in the eyes.
The woman was left with a large bruise and pain and had to go to hospital the following day.
Davies then refused to leave the property unless she transferred him £30 for a taxi.
During a court hearing, Davies, who was found intoxicated at the time, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Prosecutor Ruth Forster detailed that Davies arrived drunk at the victim's house around 6 pm on January 5, 2024.
The court was shown a picture of the extensive bruising on the woman's neck.
The defense attorney, Michael Crowe, stated that Davies, with a previous conviction, has issues with alcohol but is extremely remorseful and regrets the incident.
Davies was sentenced to a 12-month community order, with a six-month alcohol treatment requirement, fined £40, and ordered to pay £150 in compensation to the victim.
The incident significantly ended his relationship with the woman, and Davies expressed shame and regret for his actions, which happened almost 18 months ago.
