BYKER MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD ABUSE IMAGES OFFENCES
A pervert downloaded and distributed sick child sexual abuse images over a seven-year period.Daniel Hannigan was found with a stash of 700 vile photos and sent out 21 of them to other people.
A court heard that the 22-year-old had 258 still and moving category A pictures, which are the most serious kind and involve penetrative sexual activity.
Hannigan, formerly of Byker but currently of no fixed abode, is now facing jail after he appeared in the dock to plead guilty to three counts of distributing indecent images of a child, three of making indecent images of a child, and one of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
The offences took place between March 28, 2017, and August 19, 2024.
The court was told by the prosecution that the matter involved distribution of category A images, which are the most severe classification.
The magistrates declared they were unable to finalize the case and sent Hannigan to Newcastle Crown Court for sentencing.
He was released on conditional bail to appear there on October 1.
In the meantime, he must sign the Sex Offenders' Register at his nearest police station.
