PAUL CHRISTISON INCIDENT IN HAMILTON: ARSON AND OTHER OFFENCES REPORTED
Paul Christison, aged 27, was involved in a fire-setting incident in Hamilton.He deliberately set fire to his ex-partner's Vauxhall vehicle following a disagreement involving his sister.
Witnesses observed the car ignite and burst into flames in the early hours of March 6 last year, with Christison seen fleeing the scene.
The fire completely destroyed the vehicle, as detailed in court proceedings held remotely on a Friday.
Christison admitted to intentionally causing the blaze.
The court was told that after a dispute with a woman and his sister, Christison purchased fuel at a garage and filled a can.
He left his homeless shelter around midnight and returned after 1 am, with CCTV footage showing him driving around.
Additionally, Christison confessed to assaulting a man outside a homeless unit in December 2020 and threatening a woman with a knife at a residence on May 1 last year.
Since sentencing was postponed pending further reports, Christison was remanded in custody.
The court indicated that the case would continue next month.
