WISHAW MAN PLACED ON SEX OFFENDERS' REGISTER FOR NON-CONSENSUAL INTIMATE PHOTO AND HARASSMENT
John Paul Clifford, aged 38, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court after admitting to taking an intimate photo of a woman without her consent.The incident occurred at a residence in Motherwell on June 25.
Clifford also used this private image as his WhatsApp profile picture and shared it on Snapchat, making it accessible to others, as reported by Lanarkshire Live.
Additionally, Clifford confessed to causing fear or alarm to a second woman through a series of threatening and abusive behaviors on December 15 and 16 of the previous year.
The woman, whom Clifford and another woman knew through contact in Motherwell and Glasgow, was subjected to relentless phone calls, threats, and aggressive acts including being drenched with a bottle's contents while at work.
Clifford, now residing in Manchester, was previously convicted for domestic abuse offenses.
The Sheriff imposed a five-year non-harassment order concerning both women, and sentencing was deferred for further background checks and risk assessment.
