PATRICK MARRON BURI SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR EIGHT YEARS AFTER SHOCKING CHILD SEX ATTACKS
In a case that has shocked the community of Bury, Patrick Marron was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of eight years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl.The crimes, which spanned over a period starting from 1987, have left a lasting impact on the victim and her family, who attended the court proceedings in a show of support and relief.
During the sentencing at Bolton Crown Court, Marron, aged 52 and formerly residing on Broadoak Lane in Bury, appeared in the dock with a stoic expression, showing no emotion as the judge delivered the verdict.
The court had heard that Marron faced seven charges related to sexual misconduct, including two counts of buggery, three counts of indecent assault of a child, and two counts of indecency with a child.
Despite his denial of all charges, the jury took just over two hours to deliberate before returning guilty verdicts on all counts.
Members of the victim’s family, seated in the public gallery, reacted emotionally to the verdicts, loudly shouting “yes” in response to the jury’s decision.
Their outburst prompted the judge to caution them, warning that any further disruptions could lead to their removal from the court or charges of contempt of court.
