OLUWASEUN OSENI'S VIOLENT CRIME IN ORPINGTON AND MAIDSTONE
In June 2022, a disturbing incident unfolded involving Oluwaseun Oseni, a man from Orpington, that drew significant attention from local authorities and the community alike.The events took place across Maidstone and Orpington, highlighting a series of violent and criminal acts that culminated in Oseni's arrest and subsequent sentencing.
It was a distressing evening when a 16-year-old girl was waiting for a taxi in Maidstone.
Suddenly, she was approached by Oseni, a 33-year-old man who was later identified as a father of three.
Without any apparent provocation, Oseni pounced on her in Pudding Lane, initiating a terrifying assault.
The young girl was dragged into a nearby car park, where Oseni, who did not know her, grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against some metal shutters.
The situation escalated quickly as he pulled her to the ground, and the attacker, who was partially clothed, then laid on top of her, beginning to sexually assault her.
During this horrifying ordeal, a brave woman, described as a good Samaritan, intervened.
She attempted to help the teenage victim by throwing stones and rocks at Oseni, trying to deter him from continuing his assault.
Her courageous actions did not go unnoticed; she was punched in the face during the struggle, which resulted in her sustaining a black eye and breaking her glasses.
Despite her injuries, she persisted in her efforts, shouting for help and eventually managing to attract the attention of others nearby.
Her efforts prompted additional assistance, and she successfully guided the young girl into a taxi office for safety.
However, Oseni's violent behavior did not cease there.
Even after the woman and the victim sought refuge, Oseni continued to act aggressively, hammering at the taxi office window and staring menacingly as police were called to the scene.
Witnesses described him as being in a state of distress, later finding him slumped on a bench, unconscious, with snot and drool indicating his intoxicated or drug-influenced state.
Oseni, whose address was listed as Edmunds Avenue, Orpington, was eventually detained and charged.
He admitted to sexually assaulting the teenage girl and causing actual bodily harm to the woman who tried to intervene.
His sentencing took place at Maidstone Crown Court, where Judge Robert Lazarus sentenced him to three years in prison.
