OLIVER STORR FROM UPTON ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ABUSE OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN WORCESTERSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the community of Upton and the surrounding Worcestershire area, Oliver Storr, aged 22, was found guilty of engaging in sexual activities with a minor and inciting a young girl to participate in sexual acts.The disturbing incident took place over a period spanning from January 1, 2014, to March 31, 2015, when Storr was 19 years old and the victim was only 14.
Storr, who resides on Lawnside Close in Upton, had a troubling pattern of predatory behavior towards the young girl.
He exploited her vulnerability by engaging in sexual acts and repeatedly urging her to send him explicit photographs via Facebook Messenger.
The court heard that he had admitted to two counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, acknowledging his guilt during the proceedings.
The victim, who bravely provided a statement to Worcester Crown Court, revealed the profound and lasting impact of Storr’s abuse.
She described feeling as though her childhood had been stolen from her, expressing that she felt robbed of her innocence.
The emotional toll was evident as she recounted her struggles with mental health, including feelings of guilt, shame, and isolation.
She shared that she had been subjected to name-calling at school and was made to believe that she was at fault for what happened to her.
Her social life suffered, and she lost friends, which compounded her sense of loneliness.
The young girl also disclosed that she experienced nightmares, sleep disturbances, anxiety, and panic attacks.
Her mental health deteriorated to the point where she attempted to take her own life in 2017.
She expressed pain over her parents’ feelings of guilt, emphasizing that her parents could not have done anything to prevent her suffering.
Despite the severity of his actions, Oliver Storr was spared immediate imprisonment.
During sentencing, Judge Nicholas Cole acknowledged the remorse shown by Storr, noting that he had the decency and courage to admit his crimes.
As a result, the judge sentenced him to a 12-month prison term, which was suspended for 18 months.
Additionally, Storr was ordered to complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay the victim £750 in compensation.
The judge emphasized the lasting effects of the abuse, stating, “The victim statement describes the ongoing effect, including that she feels guilty.
She should not.
She was a child at the time.” He also considered character references from Storr’s family, friends, and colleagues, which highlighted his positive attributes despite his criminal behavior.
The court’s decision reflects a complex balance between accountability and recognition of remorse, but the emotional scars inflicted on the young victim remain profound and enduring.
