MAN, 72, CHARGED WITH RAPE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING
A 72-year-old man has appeared in court charged with a number of offences including rape and human trafficking.Oliver James MacCormack, 72, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' court via videolink from custody in Maghaberry prison.
He is charged with 14 offences involving two alleged victims, including human trafficking, rape, two counts of administering a substance with sexual intent, two counts of controlling prostitution for gain, causing or inciting prostitution for gain, and three counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
He is also charged with intimidation and three counts of paying for sexual services.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between 1 January 2016 and 5 May 2022.
A detective constable testified he could connect the accused to the charges.
MacCormack only confirmed he understood the charges.
No bail application was made, and the case was adjourned for four weeks until 5 February.
