SITTINGBOURNE WOMAN JAILED AFTER STABBING EX-HUSBAND DESPITE RESTRAINING ORDER
Olive Ripley was jailed for six years after causing grievous bodily harm with intent and theft following an attack on her ex-husband, George Sherbourne.
In 2017, she knifed him in the chest and back during a domestic incident in their caravan, telling him: “I want you to die, you b*****d.” He was taken to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries, including two punctured lungs.
Despite the longstanding relationship and living together after divorce, there was ongoing violence and breach of a restraining order.
Ripley was found guilty of breaching this order on October 9, 2025, when she was caught at her ex-husband’s home in Faversham.
She was subsequently sentenced at Medway Magistrates’ Court, where she received an 18-month community order, a fine, court costs, and a victim surcharge.
The court highlighted her history of violence within the travelling community, where divorce is shameful, and warned she was likely to break the order again, which could result in imprisonment.
