NORELL WISDOM FROM NEWCASTLE CONVICTED OF BRUTAL ASSAULTS AND STALKING IN KENTON AND BYKER
Norell Wisdom, a 34-year-old resident of Brian Roycroft Court in Byker, Newcastle, has been found guilty of multiple serious crimes involving his partner, including violent assaults and persistent stalking.The incidents took place in different locations within the Newcastle area, notably in Kenton and Byker, highlighting a troubling pattern of abusive behavior.
According to court reports, the first assault occurred on February 24 at the victim's home in Kenton.
During this incident, Wisdom pushed his partner from behind, then climbed on top of her in an aggressive manner.
He attempted to choke her, which caused visible bruising to her neck, as well as injuries to her legs, arms, and knees.
The severity of the attack was evident, and it marked a disturbing escalation in their troubled relationship.
Less than two months later, on April 7, Wisdom committed another assault against the same woman.
This time, he pulled out a clump of her hair, causing her additional distress and physical harm.
Despite being arrested following these incidents, Wisdom's harassment did not cease.
He continued to contact his partner through numerous phone calls and messages, with reports indicating that he made 25 calls in a single day on April 12, demonstrating a persistent pattern of stalking and intimidation.
Wisdom appeared before North Tyneside Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and one count of stalking.
The court sentenced him to a 16-week prison term, which was suspended for 12 months, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses within that period.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay £150 in compensation to his victim.
The judge emphasized the seriousness of Wisdom's actions, noting that his attempts to strangulate his partner and pull her hair out represented a significant breach of trust and a grave violation of her safety.
Furthermore, Wisdom was issued a restraining order that prohibits him from making any contact with the victim for a period of six months.
This legal measure aims to protect the victim from further harassment and ensure her safety as Wisdom remains under supervision.
The case underscores the ongoing issues of domestic violence and stalking within the Newcastle community, with authorities taking firm action against offenders like Wisdom to uphold safety and justice.
