POSTMAN WHO FILMED WOMAN MUST REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER FOR SEVEN YEARS
A POSTMAN who secretly filmed a woman exercising in her own home has been ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.According to the report, Nicholas Apps, 49, was delivering letters in Southbourne when he entered a house through the back garden and saw the woman using a rowing machine while wearing only underwear.
He took out his mobile phone and recorded her for approximately a minute before being interrupted by her husband.
Authorities investigating the incident discovered Apps had previously viewed the woman’s Facebook profile and searched for her on Google.
Apps claimed he had gone to retrieve a misdelivered letter from the back of the woman’s property when she did not answer the door.
He admitted to a charge of voyeurism at Poole Magistrates’ Court.
The court sentenced Apps to eight weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to pay the victim £200 in compensation.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.
