NEIL BEATT FROM ARBROATH ESCAPES JAIL AFTER POSSESSING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES

A resident of Arbroath narrowly avoided incarceration after admitting to the possession of indecent images of children. Neil Beatt, aged 49, appeared before Forfar Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to the possession of approximately 900 images and 200 videos depicting child exploitation. These illicit materials were found on his personal laptop, which he had been downloading from a single day of activity.

During the sentencing hearing, the court was informed that Beatt’s collection was amassed in just one day, highlighting the rapid and deliberate nature of his actions. The court considered the evidence and Beatt’s cooperation with authorities, which was described as full and transparent.
