NATHAN BRADLEY FROM INVERNESS CAUGHT WITH INDECENT PHOTOS AND BREACHES IN BRORA AND INVERNESS
In May 2015, a serious legal case unfolded involving Nathan Bradley, an 18-year-old from Brora, who faced multiple charges related to the possession of indecent images of young boys and breaches of bail conditions.The case was heard at Inverness Sheriff Court, where the court was informed of Bradley’s troubling history and the ongoing investigation into his activities.
Initially, Bradley was scheduled to be sentenced for his offences on the day of the hearing.
He had previously admitted to possessing explicit photographs of young boys at an address in Inverness.
The images, which police found on two pen drives, included 184 indecent images of boys and a related video.
Bradley had confessed that he downloaded this material from the internet and revealed a sexual attraction to boys no younger than ten.
He also disclosed that he was receiving counselling for these issues.
The police action began on May 30, 2014, when officers, acting on information received, obtained a search warrant for Bradley’s residence on Ardross Street, Inverness.
During the search, they seized various items, including the two pen drives containing the illicit images and videos.
Bradley was detained and interviewed, during which he admitted ownership of the devices and the content stored on them.
Further details emerged during the proceedings.
It was revealed that Bradley had breached bail conditions multiple times.
He was granted bail on June 20 of the previous year, with the explicit condition that he was not to access the internet.
Despite this, between September 1 and October 8, he accessed the internet on 818 occasions, including using Facebook and possessing a mobile phone.
On October 8, he was found to have accessed the internet again, and on March 12 of this year, he was caught in possession of a mobile phone and internet router, breaching his bail once more.
These offences took place at locations including View Place and Ardross Street in Inverness.
During the hearing, Depute Fiscal Roderick Urquhart outlined the extent of Bradley’s breaches, emphasizing the repeated access to the internet and use of devices despite bail restrictions.
The police also found a PlayStation console hidden beneath a cushion on a couch at View Place, which Bradley admitted to police, saying, “I’m 18.
I’m bored.” Given the seriousness of the offences and the additional breaches, Sheriff Neilson decided to defer sentencing to allow for the preparation of an updated criminal justice social work report and a joint sex offenders programme report.
The court scheduled Bradley’s next appearance for June 8, where a final sentence will be determined.
Earlier, in March 2015, Bradley had already appeared in court, admitting to possession of indecent photographs of young boys at an address in Inverness.
He had also breached bail conditions by possessing a device capable of internet access at View Place, Inverness, on December 14.
The police had obtained a search warrant following information received, and during the search, they seized the same pen drives containing the illicit images.
Bradley’s confession confirmed his ownership of the devices and the content.
Throughout the proceedings, Bradley’s mental health was acknowledged, as he disclosed that he was receiving counselling for his attraction to young boys.
The court was informed that he had been remanded in custody pending further reports, with sentencing deferred until April 17 of that year.
The case highlights the ongoing concerns regarding online offences involving minors and the importance of strict legal measures to address such crimes.
