Natasha Dawn, 43, of Sheridan Court in Stapleford, pleaded guilty to three counts of stalking and was sentenced to three years imprisonment, of which she must serve half before being released on conditional bail - she can then be recalled to prison if she offends again.

Dawn used more than 100 accounts to terrorise Tracey Patterson, at least 30 to abuse her local councillor Richard MacRae, and targeted actress Daniella Westbrook.

Observers say social media platforms should do more to prevent such abuse.

Dawn's harassment included messages with highly racist language and threats like "You won't be waking up tomorrow".

Dawn was also given a restraining order, banning her from contacting or referring to certain individuals on social media indefinitely, and from having more than one account at any time.
