NATASHA BROWN'S HORRIFIC CRIME IN STANLEY: DOG KILLED AFTER VIOLENT OUTBURST IN WASHINGTON

Natasha Joanne Brown, born on March 11, 1993, and residing at 6 Lumsden Terrace in Stanley, has been convicted of a brutal act of animal cruelty and violence that shocked the local community and drew the attention of law enforcement authorities. The incident took place in Washington, where Brown had traveled with her female terrier dog to meet her ex-partner to discuss the return of some personal belongings.

According to court proceedings, the situation initially appeared to be calm. Brown and her ex-partner were in the sitting room of her great uncle’s house, attempting to resolve their dispute. Prosecutor Oriana Frame explained that Brown had consumed alcohol, including lager and a bottle of wine, which appeared to influence her behavior. After drinking, Brown attempted to kiss and cuddle her ex, who clearly expressed his discomfort and asked her to leave. Despite this, Brown refused to depart, and her demeanor quickly turned aggressive.

Ms. Frame detailed that during a heated exchange, Brown’s former partner and her great uncle tried to de-escalate the situation. At one point, Brown threatened to smash her great uncle’s phone if he called the police. The tension escalated further when Brown, in a fit of rage, picked up her dog and violently punched it four times in the head. The dog, which was sitting on the sofa, was screaming and then went limp, appearing lifeless. Witnesses described the scene as horrifying, with the dog suffering severe injuries.

In addition to the assault on her dog, Brown physically attacked her ex-partner by grabbing her by the throat and forcing her head against the wall. She also bit her finger during the altercation. Her ex-partner attempted to comfort the injured dog and urged Brown to leave, but Brown clenched her fist and threatened violence, saying, “shut up or I will hit you as well.” She then pushed her ex-partner in the chest, causing her to fall back. The situation was so dangerous that her ex-partner managed to contact the police before Brown’s departure.

When authorities arrived, they found the dog in a distressed state, shaking uncontrollably and appearing to be having a seizure. The dog was taken to the PDSA veterinary clinic, where vets diagnosed her with a brain bleed and leg injuries. Sadly, despite medical efforts, the dog could not be saved. Brown later told police, “I punched the dog because I couldn’t punch my ex – I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt her,” revealing a disturbing justification for her actions.

During her police interview, Brown’s great uncle, who was 82 years old at the time, expressed his fear and helplessness during the incident on October 1, 2019. He stated that he was frightened of what Brown might do next and was unable to stop her from causing harm.

Brown has a documented history of violence, including previous convictions for robbery and harassment. In her own words, she expressed deep remorse, saying, “I hate myself more than anybody else could.”

Her defense attorney, Angus Westgarth, acknowledged her remorse and stated that she is suffering greatly from her actions, which she continues to regret. It was also revealed that Brown is on medication for mental health issues.

Ultimately, Brown pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and one charge of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. The court sentenced her to a 24-week jail term, suspended for 24 months, and imposed a two-year restraining order. She was also ordered to pay costs and charges totaling £207. This case has left a lasting impact on the community of Stanley and highlights the importance of addressing mental health and violence issues before tragedy occurs.
