PORT TALBOT WOMAN JAILED FOR CAMPAIGN OF HARASSMENT AND DECEPTION
Natalie Collins, aged 37, engaged in a calculated campaign of harassment and deception targeting her ex-partner and his new partner in Port Talbot. She made false accusations of domestic violence against her former partner and lodged numerous unfounded allegations with various authorities, including social services, the police, and landlords.
Collins also impersonated social workers to contact her ex’s acquaintances, falsely stating he needed to self-isolate due to COVID-19, and she sent counterfeit official letters threatening legal action.
In December 2020, she contacted emergency services claiming she had been stabbed and implicated her ex, but it was later established that she had caused the injuries herself and fabricated the story.
Her misconduct extended to sending threatening messages to herself, impersonating other individuals, and filing false reports, all of which diverted police resources.
She was detained by police, and during her trial, she admitted to lying about threats and the stabbing incident.
Collins pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment and two counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The court sentenced her to 22 months imprisonment, with the sentences to run concurrently; she is expected to serve up to half before being released on license.
The judge noted that her conduct had ‘completely unraveled’ her life, and Collins expressed remorse for her behavior.
