POSSESSIVE PARTNER JAILED AFTER FORCE-FEEDING KFC WRAP IN NEWPORT
A man from Newport has received a five-year prison sentence following a series of alarming instances of domestic abuse, including an incident where he forced a KFC wrap into his girlfriend’s mouth while calling her a a "fat c***".Nash Jeffries, aged 27, subjected his partner of four years to controlling behaviours, physical violence, and strangulation.
Court proceedings revealed that he frequently accused her of infidelity, particularly involving his brother.
Prosecutor Matthew Comer explained to Newport Crown Court that Jeffries was violent and abusive, often accusing her of being with other men, especially his sibling.
In one notable event at a nightclub, he forced her to stare at the ground to prevent her from observing other men.
Jeffries, who has prior convictions for assaulting two former girlfriends, was convicted of actual bodily harm against another partner.
His defense lawyer, Cat Jones, described him as a "bright young man" who was remorseful.
The court also heard that Jeffries suffers from anxiety and depression.
During sentencing, Recorder Andrew Hammond remarked, "You are a man who makes a habit of abusing women who enter into a relationship with you.
You are assessed as posing a high risk of serious harm to future partners." Jeffries was sentenced to two separate 10-year restraining orders and will be required to pay a surcharge upon release.
