WREXHAM WOMAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND ASSAULTING MOTHER AND POLICE OFFICER
A woman named Naomi Maybury, aged 34 and residing on Wheatsheaf Lane in Gwersyllt, carried out a lengthy campaign of stalking directed at a mother. The disturbing conduct started after a dispute in June, when Maybury threatened to attack the victim and shouted several offensive remarks about her child.
Although the victim had reported Maybury’s behavior to the police, the harassment did not stop; instead, Maybury continued to pursue and approach her in multiple locations.
In one incident in August, she was seen yelling at the mother and her child again, passing them in a shop.
The harassment culminated on December 23 when Maybury followed the woman home and assaulted her without provocation, an act witnessed by the victim’s child.
During her arrest, Maybury spat in the face of a police officer.
She pleaded guilty to stalking and assaulting both the woman and the officer.
The court in Mold sentenced her to 15 months behind bars and imposed a three-year restraining order to safeguard the victim and her child.
Detective Zoe Harrison, leading the investigation, highlighted the emotional toll her actions caused, emphasizing the significant distress and fear inflicted upon the victim’s family.
She also commended the victim for her bravery in stepping forward and underscored that such harassment and violence will not be tolerated, with authorities committed to strict enforcement against offenders.
