LONDON RAPIST GETS RARE LIFE SENTENCE AFTER COURT TEARS UP
A 'psychopath' rapist has been sentenced to a rare life term after the judge was nearly moved to tears by a victim impact statement.Musaddaq Hoque, aged 37, has been convicted of five counts of rape against two women following a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The court heard emotional testimonials from the victims, with one survivor stating, "I was not just violated.
I was broken in a way that can't be undone.
The fear, helplessness, shame, all still live with me." She described her loss of trust and ongoing fear.
The judge, Ross Cohen, was visibly emotional as victims described suffering from emotional, physical, sexual, and financial abuse, with one recounting how Hoque targeted a vulnerable divorced woman and her £30,000 savings, exploiting her value of her dowry jewelry.
Hoque, formerly living on St Luke's Road in Notting Hill, had previously been imprisoned for terrorizing a woman for 15 years, including acts of burning her with a cigarette and threatening her with acid.
He had also been involved in other violent and controlling offenses over more than 13 years.
The court considered his extensive criminal history, including assaults, drug dealing, and threats of extreme violence, to justify a life sentence.
The judge highlighted Hoque's ongoing danger, particularly as he continued to deny his wrongdoing and lied under oath.
Hoque's minimum term before parole is 14 years and eight months, after which the parole board will determine if he can be released, with any further crimes on license leading to immediate re-incarceration for life.
