MUNAVER MASTER FROM ILFORD DISMISSED AFTER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CONVICTION BY METROPOLITAN POLICE
In a significant disciplinary action, Special Constable Munaver Master, who was previously convicted of possessing indecent photographs of children, has been dismissed from the Metropolitan Police Service without notice. The decision was made following a special misconduct hearing held on Wednesday, 20 March, which concluded that SPC Master had engaged in gross misconduct by violating the police standards of professional behaviour, specifically concerning discreditable conduct.SPC Munaver Master, who is based in Ilford, was convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 21 January 2019. The court found him guilty of three counts of making indecent photographs of children, categorized under A, B, and C. This conviction was the result of an investigation carried out by the Predatory Offenders Unit, a specialized branch within the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime and Operations division. Master was arrested on 20 October 2017, and subsequent charges were formally brought against him on 12 March 2018.
Following his conviction, Master received a sentence on 8 March 2019 that included an 18-month community order, a 45-day rehabilitation activity requirement, a program requirement lasting up to 45 days, 80 hours of community service, and a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for five years. Despite these legal penalties, the misconduct hearing determined that his actions breached the ethical standards expected of police officers, leading to his immediate dismissal from the force without any notice period.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about misconduct within law enforcement agencies and underscores the importance of strict disciplinary measures to maintain public trust and uphold the integrity of police services in areas such as Ilford and across the Metropolitan Police jurisdiction.
