Ahmed Jassat, aged 28 and from Ilford, London, was given a sentence of 21 months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday.
On February 21, he admitted to charges of harassment, violating a restraining order, and resisting arrest.
Detective Constable Katie Housham of Cambridgeshire Police commented that Jassat caused significant distress to his victim.
In 2019, Jassat was convicted of stalking the woman and was issued a restraining order on November 7, barring him from entering Cambridge.
Nevertheless, just over a week later, he went to the victim’s residence in Cambridge and insisted she come with him to a police station.
After being refused by her father, Jassat said he would return.
He visited her home three more times on December 3, January 22, and January 23, each time insisting she accompany him.
Police were alerted during his final visit, where officers found him inside his vehicle on Lime Kiln Road, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge.
When officers attempted to arrest him, Jassat resisted, and it required assistance from a member of the public to restrain him.
He admitted to four counts of harassment, breaching a restraining order, and resisting arrest on three counts.
Det.
Const.
Housham emphasized that Jassat completely disregarded the restraining order and caused considerable distress, expressing gratitude to the victim for her bravery.
