MORGAN WALKER SENTENCED IN INVERNESS FOR ANIMAL NEGLECT CASE

Morgan Trevor Steven Walker, also known as Morgan Ramsden and born on December 20, 2000, of Castle Heather Drive, Inverness IV2 4ED, was convicted in 2025 of animal cruelty related to his treatment of his dog.

Walker admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to his dog, believed to be a German Shepherd named Duke, by starving and withholding veterinary care for a period of three months.

He acknowledged that between March 20 and June 20, 2024, he failed to provide adequate nutrition or medical treatment, resulting in the dog suffering from chronic malnourishment.

Fortunately, Duke survived these hardships and has since been rehomed, according to defence solicitor Kevin Hughes.

Walker’s legal team previously described him as a "vulnerable person," citing a background report that indicated he neglected both himself and the dog due to struggles with mental health issues and alcohol abuse.

Hughes stated, “Walker has taken steps to address his addiction and mental health issues.

This will not be repeated in the future.

He has no intention of keeping pets in the future.” As part of his sentence, Walker was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and was banned from owning animals for five years, a restriction set to expire in February 2030.

This case was reported by the Inverness Courier.
